Sigma Builders and Legato Living celebrated the grand opening of their first Indiana-based memory care home, Legato Living at Union Street, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Sigma Builders led the remodeling and building services to transform the beautifully preserved turn-of-the-century farmhouse into a 13-bedroom senior residence for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. This Legato Living home is locally owned and operated and is the first to open of four local Legato Living homes currently in the works.

Legato Living creates smaller, more intimate, family-style homes designed to help residents living with memory loss continue the lifestyle they know and love, surrounded by the comfort and warmth of a true home. With thoughtfully remodeled residences across South Carolina, Texas, Iowa, Nebraska, Arizona, and now Indiana, the team remains dedicated to a more personal approach to memory care. Each home is intentionally small, recognizing that intimate environments often provide the safety, familiarity, and connection that larger facilities cannot.

Legato Living chose Westfield for its welcoming spirit, accessibility, and nearby amenities – a community that offers both safety and charm. The location allows residents and their families to easily share meaningful moments together, both inside the home and throughout the neighborhood.

“Nearly one year ago, we started construction on this beautiful home to restore it and give it a new purpose, and today we are thrilled to open our doors,” said Andy Hein, owner of the Legato Living home in Westfield. “At Legato Living, our emphasis is on providing comprehensive care and services to support the whole person, from nutritious meals prepared by our in-house chef to offerings like music therapy, so our residents can thrive.”

The Legato Living boutique model ensures each resident has a four to one resident-to-care partner ratio on average and can benefit from the group’s extensive wraparound services, including physical and cognitive care, respite and adult daycare, health care services, and hospice care. Two additional locations in Indiana are set to open in 2026.
